It’s good to be the King!
My apologies to Mel Brooks’ comic masterpiece. But I’m sure that’s what every leader in North, Central, and South America has been thinking.
Kings have the advantage in such matters… they don’t have to worry about upsetting the electorate.
To quote the news article….
“¿Tu, por qué no te callas?”, grita el rey Juan Carlos de España a Hugo Chávez, el presidente de Venezuela.
During the 17th annual Ibero-American Summit, held at Santiago de Chile, and in the presence of leaders from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal; President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela kept interrupting former right-wing Spanish PM José María Aznar, prompting the king to lean over and say something out of range of the microphone several times. When Sr. Chávez finally called Sr. Aznar a “facist”, the king angrily turned to Chávez and said loud enough for the microphones and everyone else in the room to hear what we’ve all been asking ever since that nut job was elected… “Why don’t you shut up!?”
I say, way to go your highness! About time someone had the guts to ask that barking tub of lard why he can’t seem to keep his mouth under control.
